OB Opinions on The Walking Dead

I just caught up on this series. I wasn't that interested before because the whole Zombie genre doesn't interest me that much, but after hearing rave reviews, decided to check it out.
LOVE it. It's not even (IMO) about zombies as much as general post-apocalyptic survival, including the physical and psychological aspects of it all.
Followup question: What TWD character are you most like? Me? Mostly Rick but with some Shane influences at times. (I suppose most OBers would be the same) Especially as far as some decisions Rick made about being too puss or risky at times.

This is what makes the show interesting.
Yea, you see guns in every episode but you see some of the most overdone firearms mistakes 100s of times. Here are a few complaints with the firearms knowledge:
1. the BIGGEST mistake... Look at the barrel on this rifle. This was aired live on tv. Are you kidding me?
2. Carl shoots with his thumbs crossed behind the beavertail AND uses two hands to pull the trigger.
3. They somehow managed to make 100 yard headshots with a Beretta M9 and a Sig P226 when they first took over the prison.
4. If I was in a post-apocalyptic world, I don't care how bad I want to shoot full auto - it's NOT gonna happen and is EXTREMELY wasteful of good ammo that is almost as valuable as gold at that point.
Those are my biggest ones but they are still apparent in almost every episode.
If you want to see funny reviews from an experienced shooter's perspective, check out MrColionNoir's videos where he reviews them. They are hilarious.

Glenn. I always get the hot bitch.
Who do I hate the most? Lori. She should be dead and somehow isn't. What a count.

I just started season 3, but I'd agree with some of the shots being ridiculous. Anyone who's shot a pistol knows at long range and moving, head shots are almost impossible, and multiple headshots wouldn't happen.
Also, the ammo thing isn't realistic. He had 700 rounds of ammo for all Guns, somehow after all that he still has some
Final pet peeve Shane and that woman with a shaved head. She's unattractive, whiny, and annoying
"Let me tell you sumin man"

Love this series and I am fanatical about it.
I like it because it's not only zombies you have to worry about. It's the human to human interactions that become so important...and that side of life is what can be the difference in the apocalyptic era. What is needed to survive as a clan.
I'm probably closet to Glenn. Not just cause he's asian...but cause he's bad arse

I agree with your entire statement except favorite character. Mine is a character who was introduced at the end of last season. No way of saying it without spoilers.

Love the show.
I would be like darryl. The hunter/fighter of the group. I would have said rick but i would not want to be the leader and that's the main difference between darryl and rick.
I could also be morgan. Wanting to protect my kids at any cost and fighting for that.

Darryl as well because he gets shite done. Not afraid of grunt work.

Haven't seen it yet but want to start watching that and Justified.

Two things:
1- I want Rick's Colt Python.
2- Ricks kid is annoying and I actively root for him to get eaten by zombies.

Ricks kid is really progressing nicely. He can shoot now which is the difference and he's a lot braver

me and hubby sat down and watched a marathon for new years day a few years ago and were hooked. He loves it more than I do, but we both enjoy watching it (probably one of the only shows we watch together).
Lil spicy even enjoys it. I walked in on her kicking her stuffed animals around the room one day and she said she was killing the zombies "she had to take them out" And another time I heard her in the tub saying "Im going to save you, Dora, with my zombie potion"

Love the show. Yeah they prolly could use somebody from the OB to go be a consultant about the guns part of the show but the story is what keeps me watching.

I would have popped Shane myself about half through season 2 if I was Rick. Great show, can't wait till I get home to catch up on this season.

Daryl by far is the best character in the show. Reminds me of someone from Livingston parish.

Daryl has really progressed. On the farm he was more of a rebel and a loner. But after staying with the group, he's a real team player now.

LOVE the show. However, I am too much of a badass to be like any of those characters.
