congrats to coach Miles for earning every penny
I wish I could earn that kind of money for turning up the disappointing results he does.
2011 - embarrassed against Bama
2012 - embarrassed against Clemson
2013 - just can't wait

Over the past 3 years, he has the second best record at 34-6. Saban has the best at 35-5. CLM is the 4th or 5th highest paid coach now. If he was compensated based the his results, he should be at 5M just behind Saban. SO gtfo with disappointing results.

There are many coaches that could win with Louisiana's talent,
then where the hell were they before Miles?
Saban - had 3 losses per season 4/5 seasons.
Dinardo - had a couple good seasons that we would consider disappointements now
Hallman - would prefer not to remember that period
Pre-Hallman - some good, some not so good
So please help me understand where any coach has walked into LSU and done better than Miles. Reality is they didn't. He's done it better than everyone else up to this point. It's the classic back-up QB mentality. It doesn't matter how good the starter is, the other option can always be better despite what any numbers, stats, or records say.

See here we have one of these exaggeration guys that like to show up. Of course 13 win season isn't enough when you fail to show up for biggest game of the season. And we did blow people out by 30, and guess what that got us? A 21-0 shutout in the championship game.
So your opinion is to fire the HC, because our team had a really bad game?
Fact is LSU fans are spoiled rotten. It's a fact. We are. 10-wins isn't even good enough to keep your job in some people's minds and that's not an exaggeration, people have posted that on TR.

We are 1/4 in our most recent bowl games. There is no arguing that fact.

Les Miles says, "Thank you Arkansas!"

It wasn't Ar-kansas. There was never a phone call made. Thank your steely eyed AD.

Those with any sense of college football, such as JA, BOS, TAF, and most reasonable fans, says, "Thank you $4.3 million worth Les!!"

New contract was in the works long before the Arkansas situation. That issue may have sped up the process, but CLM was getting a raise either way. Seriously, guy is coach of the year in 2011 and hadn't had a salary increase since 2007. It was coming whether or not Arky made a call.

Back off the bottle a little bit hoss. This shite is way out of hand. So, next, because atm had their best year since 1939, Sumlin gets bumped up? Well, we caint have that at LSU! Give Les more! We need an NCAA coaches salry cap.

Pretty sure it was re worked in 2010 when the UM plain was spotted in BR. That was given after a frustrating, miles fashion, 2 loss season. If Tenn could count, it would have been 3

6/8 of Miles seasons one game was lost to the eventual NC winner.
What do you think the avg losses/season for other LSU coaches is?

When Saban was hired in 2000 at $1.2 million he was the highest paid. Now this is a 350% increase in just 12 years. No other profession can claim to have the same increase in such a small period of time. And I dont even remember how much the highest paid HC makes these days. This is not meant to be anti-Miles but just that these salaries are getting ridiculously high every year.

I have to wonder if the Crystal was spread around to other conf more if things would've escalated so quickly.
I don't recall Petey or Mack's contract increases.

Agreed. Seems like a similar situation to the first pick in the NFL draft's ever increasing contract before the rookie salary cap. It's borderline ridiculous at its current state and there's no sign that college coaches salaries won't keep increasing in the near future.

Les is incharge of a $100 mil progam that's thriving under his direction.
If Sumlin wins the west 3 times, the SEC 2 times, and plays for 2 BCS Titles winning 1, hell yeah he gets a bump.

This one is silly to me. We could finish 10th in the SEC and Miles would get a bonus. Why would you reward what would be considered a terrible season?

and here we go living in the past again. There is an old saying, There's no future living in the past. You can be glad its not the 90s all you want but its not the 90s in more ways than just winning. CFB is an entire different breed these days. Im glad we settle for mediocre wins and moral victories because we lost to the eventual national champion. we will just sit here and praise Miles on it and wait till the program drops before we do anything about it.
