that was 10 years ago. it's not nearly hard to move up anymore. most of the kids that hire on now don't even know what a fricking pipe wrench is.

Just throw him on a casing crew.

I have worked for them since 2002. Great company to work for.
I never missed a check in 10 years. I stopped working for bobby a little over a year ago. If you worked any chevron jobs for them, we probably know each other.

The first time I saw a 48" I thought it was a prop for a movie set.

Hands on the rig I'm on are getting moved up pretty quick because of the rigs coming out next year.

What would a person with a construction management degree from lsu with lots of construction and management experience be able to do in the oil and gas field? All my experience is in residential homes and business is sloooowwwwww.

I worked almost five years on the Shell Mars. Once I had kids, I tried to work on land as much as possible. I am now in the office and they would have to beat me with a stick to get me to go back in the field.

I'm trying to recall some of the offshore construction companies we used to work with. PMI (they might do environmental work) might be a place to check. If I can recall some of the names, I'll post em up for ya.

Mars was the perfect home away from home. I made many friends that I still talk to today.

ROV Operators
Start here. They hire ROV operators like crazy. The starting pay through training and the first year or so isnt great (a lot of overtime should make up for it), but the earning potential is pretty good if you are able to stick it out.

Nice. I did about 5 years on the Auger before getting pulled into the office for chevron. 2 years at chevron and now this gravy arse job at Chesapeake. All that hard work paid off

Don't you have a family? If so dont go offshore. I am about to kill someone if I don't get back on land soon. I am sick of being gone half the time.
