Miss River rising this soon???

I did my run on the levee instead of the lakes on tuesday and was suprised to see the river starting to rise......Its early Feb.....Is that normal to see a rise this early?

we got a shite ton of rain up here the past few days, combine that with melting snow from fairly warmer than usual weather from up north and you are gonna see higher than normal river stages on the Mississippi

Just local runoff most likely, there's a stretch closed around Vicksburg because it's too low for barge traffic.

Not anymore,,River is 33.2 at Vicksburg right now.

I think all our rivers and creeks up here are at flood stage.

Schools here have missed about a week now because of the flooding. All that water here is headed to the Mississippi via the Holston, Clinch, Tennessee, and Cumberland Rivers.
