Will do. I want this to be my last upgrade for a while, but the damn lego theory is in full force.

Too bad you don't have a Microcenter within driving distance. Some of those Tigerdirect prices are outrageous compared to what I pay for stuff.
Speaking of which. Is there anything that keeps you from buying at Microcenter? I live about 5 miles away from one. You could buy stuff and I could pick it up and ship it to you. You'd save $80 on a 3770K alone.

If you wait for one of those PSUs to go on sale and you get one, you won't have to upgrade the PSU ever again

Unless he does tri SLI or something like that. 8-)

Amazon has some of the best prices on the web with customer service that is second to none.
I buy my very fragile parts (mobo, CPU) from there, and less fragile (case, PSU, etc) from Newegg.

KC is about an hour and a half away, could make a day of it, didn't realize there was on that close.

Or if next gen video cards have more power, then he won't be able to xfire. 7970s in xfire use around 700w

Amazon is $90 more than Microcenter on a 3770K.
I get my fragile stuff from there. If there is a problem I want to be face to face to get issues resolved.

Which is why I just got a Seasonic Platinum 1000. It should last me a while.

Probably closer to like $70 after taxes and gas, but microcenters are few and far between.

Won't be upgrading my 7950 anytime soon (see the not needed comment) so dual 7950 will be the way I go so I want a PSU that handles that.
Also VA thanks for the offer but like you I like a direct link if something is faulty and don't want to have to go through you to return something.

$70 on the processor alone. Depends on his overall purchase but it could be a good option for him. He could be there and back by early afternoon and building in the evening.

Understand. Just wanted to make the offer. Even if you are an SEC guy. Just keep your coaches away from Vonn Bell. I want that kid to be a Buckeye.

Keep in mind I want a performance increase over what I have, not sure if it's worth the money, that is what I am exploring.

You really don't need to upgrade the CPU/RAM. I would recommend upping the mobo, psu then case
Posted on 1/31/13 at 9:59 pm to bluebarracuda
I am thinking I will do mobo and a case based on what I have been told PSU is covered unless someone else has input. So recommendations on that would be appreciated.
