That would be the only reason I could see getting one, for aesthetic or historical value.
Well, there could be other reasons, such as shooting true big bore rounds like the .500 S&W, .454, and others. They offer a very good platform for hurling large pieces of metal downrange at high rates of speed.
Plus, as an old timer once said 'The .45 Colt is never a mistake.'

I learned with a Taurus .38 and a S&W .357. My boys will learn with the revolver.
Always goes BOOM and the jury will like them better than those high capacity semi auto assault pistols. ;-)

they will always go bang assuming the ammunition is OK.

A revolver will cycle ratshot, where a semi auto will not. That's all I got.

I was going to buy a cowboy, but saving up for the gong.
And revolvers are fun to shoot, accurate, and reliable.
And Alx doesn't like them. But he doesn't own a pistol so doesn't count

Fair enough.
I'd rather this though.

A cowboy is definitely on my list as well.

I know Josey personally and I will tell you the following about him:

Can't play Russian Roulette with a semiauto.

Another point for the revolver.

I'm pretty ignorant on pistolas too - I can't shoot them worth shiite - but I did hear a saleman tell a customer when discussing semis vs wheel guns "nothings more reliable than a revolver but when you are in a combat situation nothing beats a semi". Not sure the female customer appreciated the answer

The cowboy is $110 or so. Gong is $200. I'd just soon have the gong

I will see you that and raise you this:

I'm an Equal Opportunity Pistoleer. I open my safe to all creeds and orientations of pistols.
Revolvers, to 1911s, mostly Glocks, an XD and there's even a Sigma in there. ( it came with the wife)

They don't jam or mis feed. Somebody without a lot of experience with a Glock or 1911 in a high pressure situation will be in trouble if the jams. With a revolver you just pull the Trigger and and it will rotate to another round vs messing with a jam or faulty round,
