This whole thread has been ruined by a bunch of immature nonsense.
THANK YOU
Nobody is here to talk about the Free Agents anymore, they come here to argue over petty shite. I started this thread for people to discuss the Free Agents for next season and I only got a few good replies out of it.
LET'S RE-FOCUS GUYS!!!

Now, someone tell me how we can trade for a top 5 player and win the NBA next season.
OK, here it goes...
Top 5 Players in the NBA, according to me:
Lebron James
Carmelo Anthony
Kevin Durant
Chris Paul
Tyson Chandler
Basically, the Olympic starting five.
CP3 will be a free agent next season so he would be the only person to go chase.

Tyson Chandler is nowhere near a top 5 player, but either way there's no way we're getting him or CP.
Our best bet, IMO, is to lowball teams with solid players who aren't going anywhere as far as the postseason goes and are looking to unload salary, or trade one of our better players and hope for some depth and addition by subtraction, sort of like OKC did with Harden.
After the Posey debacle I am terrified of being a fringe contender (which we aren't yet) and trying to sign that one guy to make it work. We'll inevitably overpay somebody.

I know we dont have to go and maz out the salary cap to improve, but I feel like we are a star SF away from being a top 4 seed. Yeah we need a few additional minor pieces (backup PG, SG) but those are more easily obtainable.
If Rivers continues to get time this season and improves, the solves one of those holes.

Corey Brewer is a perfect fit for this team. He is hitting the corner 3's, and is a nightmare for opposing players when he is on defense. And you could get him while still having money to spend on a backup pg.
They should offer Josh Smith as much as they have to give. He could make this team a title contender next year.

Assuming Gordon stays healthy and gets back to form, the Pels need one more stud and a couple of bench upgrades, IMO. So the question is do we go all in at the 3, 5 or 1. I really think that what the Pels do is one of the most interesting questions in the NBA.
Seriously. I think the next six months will be fascinating. R

I think we're a lot more likely to see several smaller upgrades than a big splash. A big splash uses our space to fill one whole (or even less through some trade ideas). I also have faith in Dell to do the right deals to keep us going in the right direction.
Brewer is definitely an interesting target.
I haven't heard much mention of Ginobli, but could the SA connection somehow make that happen?

Careful with that axe, Eugene

They probably would have been a playoff team this year if not for Gordon being injured. Adding someone like Smith could put them in contention. I'm not saying this as a homer by the way. I'm a Mavs fan.

Ginobili is Argentinian.

Ginobli is Argentinian; there are a lot of Argentinians with Italian surnames and to a lesser extent German as well. Ginobli probably comes from the Ginobili name that seems to be fairly common in Italy.
Meant for the dude who said Spain

Dude is from Argentina. Name doesn't come from Spain. He is half Italian and half Argentian.
