Exactly, but also in the old days, you could see opening acts that were just as big as the headliners. I think after time, some headliners even felt like they were being outshined by opening acts, so they started really digging up no-chance no-name bands.

On a different note, under the "who would have thought", can you believe Jimi Hendrix Experience opened for the Monkees??

-in '97 at Centroplex, unknown Incubus opened for 311 and blew us away.
-a year or so later when Incubus started playing The Varsity all the time, System of a Down opened and blew the roof off (again we had never heard of them, but did after that!)
-A Perfect Circle opening for NIN (but were already huge since it was a Maynard side project)
-Meriwether opening for Anomaly :)
