Along with not being able to beat the Bear/Saban, Coach Mac was too loyal to his long time OC, Charlie Peevy/Coach Stud. It's funny but LSU fans have "been able to call the first plays of the game" going on 40 yrs now. As well, Coach Mac was ripped for not playing Bert any more than he did, much like CLM has been for not playing the "right QB" in recent years. As one said here, if this all sounds like The Twilight Zone", many of us old timers have felt this for yrs now.

Yep- we had a real problem with the offense- there was nothing wrong with the Defense. Charlie Mac refused to address the obvious. The fan base really started to get restless and Mac was forced into retirement. Hmmm....... sounds familiar.
