Then why would we want the most important assistant coach to have no experience coaching the 3-4 system as well? We will be transitioning many LB's who have little or to no NFL 3-4 experience, i think we need an experienced assistant to help us get on the fast track. Maybe it'll be good for Joe to see a change of pace in his coaching with the secondary.

I agree that having a LB coach who's focus is the 3-4 would be better suited for the job. If one is not available then Vitt is serviceable. I would be interested to see him work with the DB's/Secondary.
