What do I need to make Halo (the first one) work in an Xbox 360 slim. I see online that I need to buy a HDD from Xbox but the are pretty expensive and figured y'all could help me go around that shite. TIA

Buy the anniversary edition if you want to play the first Halo. If not then DL the original off of the Xbox marketplace.

Yeah, Halo CE disc is the cheapest and best way to go IMO

Download it or buy a 3rd party HDD for pretty cheap. The anniversary edititon is just Halo Reach with Halo CE settings and remade Halo Ce maps.
I bought a 60 GB HDD off of Newegg for like $35$

You can also use up to a 32 GB thumb drive in the USB ports on Xbox
