Yeah just thinking this. I have a dog too, that i'd like to take out with me.

Now it's finding a good kayak. I'm not looking to spend a terrible amount. Definitely under $650.

stick with Craigslist. You can find a great deal on an SOT in the BR or NO area. Maybe use Searchtempest to cover more area. I bought 1 SOT on eBay and one on Craigslist, and drove to Mississippi to pick them up.

edit: canoe would be better for the dog. No where to sit in the SOT.

I have a Hobie Outback but it's a grand more than what you are looking for. I got it for leg exercise and hands free fishing.
