you're over simplifying things here. Maybe go pull the fairways hit by those guys in the tournaments they won, not the overall year. Also look at which tournaments they were winning, obviously there are tournaments where hitting the fairway isn't as important as others

It matters in the US Open, and that's really about it. Maybe Memorial.

All guys care about is that they don't have an off the planet miss. 8 iron in, they don't care if they are in the rough or fairway.

Tournaments are won with the putter and a little luck
