Anybody have any experience with them, I found one yesterday and it was the only .22 they had so I grabbed it. I'm just wondering if anybody had any feedback on them as far as reliability and accuracy. I would like to use it as a squirrel gun.

Thanks

I like how they look, if that helps?

Most folks say they are pretty good.

Co-Worker bought a golden boy .22 for his son for Christmas.

They are currently on gun #2 being sent back to factory.

Gun #1 would not cycle rounds. Gun #2 had to use a sheet of plywood just to see where the rounds where hitting.

Not saying Henry doens't make a good rifle and they are taking care of the problem. I would just not have expected this out of a 400.00 plus .22 . Hell before Christmas he asked me what lever action I would buy and I told him Henry all the way.

So there can be issues with any gun maker.

Sounds like he got a lemon. Every Henry I've ever messed with was great.

But like u said any gun can have issues.

If I had a CZ 452, it would be one of the nicest .22s I would've shot. CZ, Savage, Win, and Rem all make some other very well established alternatives. Just have to decide bolt vs pump vs semi-auto.

Very sweet rifles considering the cost. It's not a anshlutz (sp?) or anything but they are great for plinking or squirrel blasting.

I've heard great things about them and they are beautiful rifles.

I really want a Henry Big Boy in 44 mag though. That thing sounds like a hoss!

No way in hell was I gonna drop $1000+ on a freaking .22. The 452 I found was $369. I think it is worth it for something that I consider a lifetime gun

The thing that turns me off about the big boy is the weight. Holy hell they are heavy. The action is soooooooooooo slick though. It's hard to not love it. It's such a pretty rifle and you can tell its very well made.

True. It would probably be just a fun gun anyway. They're too pretty to trudge through the woods with.

Yea it's almost something that belongs on the wall only to be shot occasionally. It's just that pretty (at least to me).

Henry seems to really make some fine rifles. Every one I pick up or shoot feels excellent and I think they have left marlin in the dust on quality lever rifles. The only exception is the cheap .22, which is still a very good looking and shooting rifle, just with cheaper guts.

It's a shame that marlin let the 39 slip to where it is now. Henry has left marlin in the dust on fit and finish.

A friend of mine has the standard Henry Lever Action .22, it shoots straight, and cycles everything he feeds it. And the action is a real joy to operate. Smooth as butter out of the box.
