Slippery slope. Whats the difference between alma mater and any other school? (thats what they would say)

He's actually on the staff at one.

He was unpaid and just recruited for them. That would be like LSU having Shaq in his prime to go on the road recruiting for basketball for us. Or Patrick Peterson going to all the best DB's houses in the country and convincing them to go to LSU. What if Peyton Manning recruited for UT?

If Shaq, PP7 and Peyton Manning were assitants for the staff, what would be the problem? I think there are limits to the amount of people you can have you can have on staff and if they are official staff members what's the problema?

I just thought that was illegal

What authority would the NCAA have to tell Shaq he can't talk to a HS kid about playing at LSU?

yeah there is a reason there are limited numbers on a coaching staff for NCAA sports. if they used one on him, then

also, being "involved in recruiting" may mean he just talked to coaches and developed relationships with schools while scouting

Maannn I don't know. I just figured it was illegal because teams don't do it.

I understand the limited staff rule, but I promise you we would be better off not paying Patrick Peterson and having him recruit for us than paying Ensminger to be lazy and do jack shite.
