I think Thorpe might be the best "basketball guy" that espn has but I think he's wrong here.

Im fine with Durant at number 1 but I have issues with Westbrook, Harden, and Griffin being ahead of Rose.

Like i said, Rose already has an MVP, something nobody on the list can say. He carried a franchise by himself to legit success, also something nobody on that list can say.

Seriously, would anybody really trust Blake Griffin to lead their team to a championship over Rose? The guy was benched in crunch time of the playoffs last year.

James Harden shoots a bunch of FTs and has the Rockets in the exact same spot they've been in for the past decade. .500

Westbrook/Rose is closer but i give Rose the benefit of the doubt because he's been in a position that Westbrook will likely never be in. Westbrook doesn't carry the burdens that Rose does because he's never been the best player on his own team. I also like Rose's temperment and leadership abilities more than Westbrook's.

as the quoted piece above said, Griffin is just a reliable FT stroke away from being a complete player.

Rose only got the MVP because the writers didn't want to give it to Lebron after the Decision. Basing a player's worth off an arbitrary award is risky.

And his team has been cruising without him. It's not a one man team in Chicago.

Rose is a great player, but it isn't an outrage that he is behind Westbrook, Griffin, and Harden.
