We were asking the same thing at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately I'm just kind of expecting him to come back down to earth but will have another stretch like this by the end of the year.

I hope I'm wrong and he keeps this up

I think he'll keep it up based on these 2 quotes from yesterday.

quote:

Jim Eichenhofer ?@Jim_Eichenhofer

Al-Farouq Aminu (14pts/11reb): "I think I found my niche in this team, where I could help the team out. I'm just trying to fill that role."

Monty on Aminu: "He's the guy that has played inside his box and made himself look really good, but he has made our team look even better."

Translation, Monty has finally beat it into his head that he only does a few things well and if he doesn't bring those things every night he's worthless.

He definitely needs to play more consistently, but the guy was born in 1990. He's still very young. He's starting to show more maturity in his effort and ability to respond positively to his own mistakes, which was a very big problem early this year and more so in his career.

Right now, he's looking like he would have been worth the option year at $3.4M, but hindsight is 20-20. Maybe declining the option was the kick in the arse that he needed. I hope we're able to bring him back at an affordable salary. He really does fill a nice role here. His rebounding compensates for Anderson and Lopez, while his defense is becoming formidable. Hell, he even drained a 3 yesterday.

To Lester Earl, you clownin'. Aminu has contributed way more this season than Ju Ju did in his entire career.
