Same record....and they swept us. Just askin.

Drafting order among teams with identical records is first determined by strength of schedule.

yeah this is more horseshite piled up on us by the league. I know, it's the rules, but it's so damn convenient that it happens to us this year. so we lose to them twice AND they get to draft one spot higher than us. Triple win for them!

That is a really strange tie breaker. I would think division record or conference record would be better than strength of schedule.

It is the fairest way to do it.
If the team with the weakest schedule ties the team with the best schedule, its obvious which team is worse. Therefore you let them ahead.

Very true.

Yep, which really pissed me off watching them lose. I remember reading before the game the Saints would be picking behind them turds no matter what so at least they could've won and finished .500

I think it has something to do with who had a worse record from the previous year too.

• Strength of schedule for the previous season is the first tie-breaker for teams with the same winning percentage. The team with the lowest strength of schedule percentage wins the tiebreaker and picks ahead of all other teams with the same record.

The Saints dropped about 4 slots by finishing 7-9 instead of 8-8. In hindsight I wish we'd have lost the meaningless game to Dallas as well as we'd be near the top 10.
I feel the same way about the Hornets - they're racking up all of these wins but the NBa draft is almost worthless after the 5th pick or so.
