re: A Danny Granger deal might make a lot of sense for this team.

I dont think Granger has much left in the tank. Give him a year or two and he will fade out

Just what this team needs another high dollar player who spends more time on IR than in the game.

Though he is a great player, I like smaller signings to support depth over a big splash like Josh Smith. Keep flexibility.
To me, the biggest holes are frontcourt rebounding, guard depth, and youth. They need to let the young guys mature and sign some veterans to help show the way.
1) Resign Aminu if he keeps up this play
2) Sign another 3 for competition/backup (Wright, Budinger, Brewer, Webster, Dunleavy, Matt Barnes?)
3) Sign a bruiser/rebounder backup frontcourt player (DeJaun Blair/Marreese Speights)
4) Get a backup guard (Patty Mills, CJ Watson, AJ Price, Foye, Redick, Beno Udrih?)
5) Draft best available
6) March to the playoffs, shock the world

Davis is not a Center and, as much as I hate to say it, Smith is not really a Center either. Davis cannot hold the pivot, he is just too light. It will be years until he is ready to slide over to that position. He can play it when other teams go really small, but he is better suited at PF.

I would love Beno
Put up 14/4/4 in Sac a couple of years ago and would be great fit in our second unit.

If we're trading for a SF with a large cap number, it should be Deng.
Only reason people even keep bringing up Granger is because he was born here. Nepotism.

Honestly we shouldn't even be looking to land a big time SF right now.
The only way we're getting one is:
1 Draft(might not be able to land Shabazz)
2 Trade (Don't have the pieces to trade without making ourselves worse)
And there are slim pickings in FA but it will get better in 2014.

The FA market isn't any good outside of 2-3 guys that we would have to probably way overpay to get here anyway. Either get Shabazz, or just suffer through Aminu/Henry/L. Thomas at the 3 for another year and wait until the FA market looks better.

frick no, if we sign a PG it will be for a solid backup.
We sign Josh Smith and we are instant contenders.

Top-7 rotation players would be really strong.

I'd rather someone like Chandler Parsons or Wilson Chandler than Granger, honestly.
