All the carries count though.
4.4 ypc isn't bad at all. 4.4 plus one for 78 is dandy, I'll take it all day.

Perhaps you should share that little pearl with Les. He seems to believe it does cut it.

He averaged over 7 ypc over his career at LSU. Explain that away. Why do you Miles fanatics do this to the poor guy?

Already did explain it. Sorry some of y'all are stuck on the hype. He got beat out fair and square. Several people passed him on depth charts. Explain that

He is a great teammate and ambassador for LSU. The fact is he peaked in high school and when he came to LSU, he was not better than Randle and the others. He was a good receiver, and a good every now and then runner....but no michael ford or alfred blue. He should have transferred if he wanted more pt, but he wanted to be a tiger all 4 years. I respect and commend him for the contributions he made as a spot player.

THIS. Spot on. I wish he would have been an all american, but things didn't work out that way. Just how it is sometimes

Great post.
Too many here want to be able to blame someone for things not going the way they wanted it to go. But things sometimes just don't go the way you want.
Those people need to get over it.

Isnt he tweeting and stuff about how recruits should not go to LSU. How is that an Ambassador for LSU?

Those numbers are highly skewed. I think he had a long TD run each year (through a wide open hole that any of our backs could've done) that completely skews his averages. Take away those very few plays and his average goes WAY down.
He never juked one defender his entire career here, went down at first contact, fumbled too much, and has stone hands. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, but he just wasn't a good college player.

quote:I was content to just lurk and read, but this has got to be the dumbest post I've seen in a while. Let me ask you a question DA. Do you honestly think CLM is a decent evaluator of offensive skill players with his offensive record? Russell Shepard made the worst possible decision of his young life in coming to LSU. He would've been a superstar at Oregon, Oklahoma, Texas, Oklahoma St., the list goes on and on. He'll be a great pro and the wool will be further pulled from a lot of eyes. Geaux RS10!
Haven't we done Shep to death? He will not make it in the NFL. With all of his speed and elusiveness, why didn't he return kicks of punts? Answer: he lacked physicality. As a receiver, he struggled getting off the line, and his hands were not reliable; the kid should have gone to a place like Georgia Tech where they ran the option. He was not good enough to start at LSU which lacked quality receivers; do you think he can make it in the NFL?

Did you not watch RS for the past 4 years?!?! Stone hands, no ability to make defenders miss, no physicality whatsoever, fumbled too much. He won't play a down in the NFL.

true, he had a about as good a career at LSU as he could have had. I think the fan base appreciates him and his contributions to LSU and wish the best for him in the NFL. I think he has always been a fan favorite for a variety of reasons.

He came a long way over his 4 years here at LSU. Came in very undeveloped physically and must have worked very hard in the weight room to become a somewhat physical player by his senior year (at least relative to where he started). Also developed decent hands and could run routes to some degree.

NO, but maybe at a La Tech or N Texas St. he could have gotton the PT he needed to truely develop his WR skills.
