I was describing what he wanted to run the OP stated run bump and run man all game I didn't.
It really depends on the DC. Some coaches will use a Safety and some will not. But the safety really isn't a safety he's just like you said a rover. A combo LB/safety.

Agreed. When we're playing a power running team, Patterson often uses a third LB and runs it like a de facto 4-3 with the safeties on the opposite side you would expect (FS deep to the strong side, WS stays weak but plays up like a strong safety... it looks pretty weird).
