How does anyone take the sport of cycling, and the Tour de France serious anymore? I'm sure some people love the downfall of Armstrong, but pretty much every Tour de France winner recently has doped.

Contador
Landis
Armstrong

1/3 of the top finishers the past 15 years

With the constant advances in drug testing, how soon does Bradley Wiggins get indicted for doping?

Not a fan of cycling or the Tour de France prior to these revelations, but how does anyone have faith in the winners now?

I love watching it, and from a pure spectator point of view it's entertaining and the doping matters little to me because it doesn't affect me in any way. Obviously it makes the feat they accomplish a little less jaw dropping but it's fun.

It takes a special type of person to enjoy watching cycling...like someone who enjoys watching NASCAR.

"Leave me in peace; everybody takes dope." -- Jacques Anquetil, first man to win five Tours de France, 1965.

Eddy Merckx, easily the greatest cyclist ever (yes, even better than Lance) failed three drug tests in his career.

There has always been doping in cycling. Anyone who thinks any successful rider is clean at any point in the race's history is deluded. I just don't care. If you want to ride your bike up the friggin' Alps, I have no problem with you oxygenating your blood.

Do you take baseball seriously? What about the NFL?

Olympic track and field?

One thing that's been happening in the last couple of years is that the speed of the race has slowed down, and the ascents of some of the historic mountains are the slowest that they've been in over 20 years. To me that indicates that the peleton is relatively clean nowadays.

I think instead of seeing cycling as the sport, we should just look at it as the highest red blood cell count team award. That is basically what determined the winner. So if they want to make that a sport, I'm sure it would thrive.
