so my guess is Manti is gay and he and his boyfriend came up with this story to get the family and friends off their trail and then the story got picked up in the press and they were too far along to back off.

this could actually be a very plausible story.
he he is supposedly a devote Mormon and I have personally known some to completely shun family members who come out.
