Pitts character is a caricature of how Europeans see Americans.
Someone like a Bruce Campbell or similar would have been better for that role imo

Pitt was doing a comical John Wayne impersonation
John Wayne played John Wayne in all of his movies and that is what Pitt was portraying with his "Bon Jorno" matter of fact style of acting
