One word: Escapability!

I know it isn't a word but damn that's what separates great QB's from good QB's..Period.

Can't wait to see him play!

This Rettig/Jennings thing is going to get very interesting before it's over.

The thing I like most about AJ is his quick release, and his vision seems pretty good as well....all things we've lacked over the years, excited about this one!

Four seconds of thinking and you could have concluded that was false. I'll give you four seconds to think of some hall of fame QBs with poor escapability....

Peyton Manning
Dan Marino
Dan Fouts
Hell, even Brees only has decent escapability.

IMO not a good thing with CLM.. he'll just turn him into another JJ and try to run him.

We have backs that can run. We don't need a running QB. We do need a QB who can move around the pocket when under pressure or roll out if necessary, but we don't need a QB who can scramble. It will be another trainwreck.

Thankfully Jennings is more of a pocket passer, but... I'm hoping Rettig beats him out. Rettig has the same sort of elusiveness in the pocket but he seems less inclined to take off running the second his protections seem to waver.

Regardless, AJ looks pretty good as a passer. Excited for the pair.

ETA: After a little reconsidering I think you might have meant the same thing I did, so I will clarify. I am all for escapability, but I do not want a QB who chooses to run often.
