I just put the whole bag in

It will usually stay intact if you don't stir it around too much

Sometimes I just hose the outside of the pot

Fwiw I don't plan on doing it just once what I meant by not needing the fanciest burner is if i can get away with an entry or moderate level burner instead one that has all these crazy bells and whistles than why not? If I need the bells and whistles than I will get them. All I'm trying to do is find what name brand is consistent with a quality product that will last me a good amount of time

we have an attachment for our hose that wraps around the top of the pot with holes all around that drenches the whole pot.
