good interview, gives some insight on his thought process on a few things.
it's frustrating when he talks about not winning in 2010 or 2011 though. I think we'd have stood a much better chance had he just put Lee in as the starter after UF in 2010 and just used Jordan situationally.
and I know that's in the past, but it makes you question some of his decision making going fwd.

Sarcasm or no,but having our WRs catching balls and not dropping them often early in the season, better O Line protection and better "execution" later in the season by our secondary would all be exactly what he is talking about.

Miles: If you had to look at three years ago, the recruiting class we brought here three years ago, you would have to say that the recruiting class that we have on the board right now that has committed to coming here that they show up on this campus they should have the opportunity to do everything that that very special recruiting class of three years ago did
Miles just compared this years recruiting class to the 2009 one... This makes me happy..

He starts this thread praising the guy because he understands the process of his players going pro, like it's something special or hard to understand. If he didn't understand the process of it all, then that would be worth talking about, because that would mean he's retarded
Uhhhh, well then clearly our longtime suspicions have been.confirmed and there are a frick ton of retards on the Rant because there have been countless threads with idiots ape speculating and questioning why so many juniors left early this year.
I thought the why was as obvious as you and our coach do, but clearly others aren't quite as sharp.

when Kiki (Mingo) and Sam (Montgomery) and (Kevin) Minter and some of those guys start stepping out and saying we’re leaving there’s a feel like “I know those guys, I can play with those guys and I’m as capable as those guys and Stevan Ridley and dang it and there’s a prevailing attitude here – which I don’t want to change – that they can and to be very honest with you if they say that they think that they can I’m inclined to say I agree.
Without question, this is the reason for the mass exodus.

I liked the article. But I have to say that this quote bothers me and reminds me of the Alleva statement when they gave Coach Miles a raise. Alleva said something like getting close is what counts.
My answer is, "no you don't get rewarded for close". What's the old saying about horse shoes and hand grenades? Close doesn't count!
I agree with you, but in the current state of the program, good not great imo, if you want to be optimistic and take a positive spin on things, emphasizing being close is as far as you can stretch it bc in close/big games lately, we've been close, but we haven't won.

Agreed. Reenforcing what I already thought. I really don't believe he thinks there is anything wrong with his offense, the players just need to do a better job.

Well when you understand what he just said and you reread the interview he makes stubborn sound realistic.
He says we are a few plays aways from being in Bamas spot.......he says @ clemso some freshman who played like seniors for the backend of the year, played like freshman.......
Pretty solid answers....

Funny, I thought Eric Reid had been here for awhile. Certainly Alexander was a glaring problem. I still don't care for Miles throwing his players under the bus, essentially putting all the blame for that loss on them. And if he's trying to make us feel good with the comment about only being a few plays away from hoisting the hardware, the interviewer should have asked him who called those critical plays that kept us on the outside looking in.

Basically, I took away from it:
We're close. Stop expecting so much. Young players and attrition cost us two games.
What I did not take away from it:
We are going to make some changes on the staff or with our philosophy to get better.
This is the crucial difference I see between Les, and the gold standard in CFB. At the end of the last two years, he's had to fend off critics by talking shite about making changes in the offense and punishing teams who stack the box, etc.
This is two years straight where we simply heard words that made us sound hopeful, and saw results that would make any objective person question those words as outright lies told merely to achieve some breathing room with a fanbase that knows exactly how well he recruits, and how well we develop players, and how shiteous one aspect of this team has been.
Great players in, world class development done, coaching staff upgrades, skyrocketing staff salaries, but total offense rank of 57th (2008), 112th (2009), 87th (2010), 86th (2011), & 86th (2012).
Meanwhile Saban has hoisted 3 National Championship Trophies into the air as well as had 12, 14, 10, 12, & 13 victories. We're watching our head coach make up excuses about why he can't produce better results on offense. They're giving their Gumptarded Fans photo ops with the Warerford Crystal Trophy in Wal-Marks.
This article does nothing for me. But anyone whose objective thinking outherwise is deluding themselves.

I have no problem with Miles as a man. What I have a problem with is his inability to manage a clock, game, personnel, development of players, etc.
Give me one example of each of those and I'll give you 10 examples of where he f'ed them up.

How did he manage to say that much without saying " have the want"?
