Why do people assume Miles wants to run it down people's throats?

I see this posted all the time, that Miles only wants to run the ball and is ultraconservative, and Lee paralyzed his playcalling etc,etc----but have any of the people saying these things looked at the stats?
Take Clemson for example---we threw 23 passes in 48 total plays, and many, many more plays were designed passes that got blown up, sacked etc. If anything we should have run the ball more because that's the only thing that was working that night. I'm not happy at all with offensive production, but I think people need to be able to recognize the difference between ineffective, incapable and conservative.

well we ran Broussard and Vincent's fat asses for less than 1 ypc in the Auburn game in 2006 while JR was throwing all over them

Well, I want him to run it down people's throats.

I'mt not sure because I haven't been around long enough but I think I am starting to get a feel for how this goes.
We like to bitch when we run, because we should have thrown.
We like to bitch when we pass, because we should have run.
Can anyone tell me if I am doing this right?

Let me ask you a question on top of that question...
Why do you think the offensive playcalling has been largely the same the past 8 years despite having three different offensive coordinators in that span.

Well we can't have it both ways.

he's an idiot when it doesn't work, but no one ever talks about his play calling in the 13 games of 2011 that it did work. I know he should've made adjustments in the NC down 15 0, but against weaker opponents than Alabama defensively he should continue to run the ball until our OL can protect mettenberger long enough to get off a pass. Les Miles DID cost us the last two bowl games but WON us 23 games over the last 2 yrs.

I think the reason people feel that way is the style of backs Les uses in his offense. A small back in a Les Miles offense is 215lbs. The guy likes massive 235lb running backs. I have never seen a smaller faster back really thrive since Les has been at LSU. I really don't care what Les wants to do. I just want to see the offense break the top 50 Nationally. It's a little embarrassing finishing 80 something.

He runs right into the teeth of the defense. No gimmicks.

I don't get it either, Ford might be the best ball carrier LSU ever had, and he hardly ever saw the field. I have to think a run-first coach would have used Ford to wear out defenses.
