Sales tax in EBR would be like 12.25% or so. I'd take that all day over state income tax though.

State tax is currently 5% & EBR tax is 4% I believe. If still true (was when I was working in retail in 2010), It would push it up to 11% total sales tax for those in EBR.
ETA: I'm not sure how I feel about the proposal yet seeing as how I only had ~$300 in state taxes deducted for 2012. I think that's about how much I had deducted, I don't have my Income tax spreadsheet on my phone so not 100% sure. I can't do the math at the moment but I think I would be paying more each year than I would if the current plan stays in place. But, it might help take some of the pressure off from my reduced net pay due to the new increase in social security deductions.
