We were at about 40 att/g which is only 1 attempt a game off of the mark from last year and higher than some other years in the past 5 years. In yards/attempt we were 67th.
Well qb attempts count as well. So im saying we called more pass plays than we have since 08. I mean thats a no brainer. Just because it says Mett was 13-23 doesnt mean we called 23 pass plays. Especially when he was getting sacked 5-6 times.
just looking at listed stas on lsusports
2012 527 rush attempts to 356 pass attempts.
2011 591 rushh attempts to 279 pass attempts.
thats more than once a game

We called more passing plays because the running game just plain wasn't working a lot of the time. And it wasn't working because it was inconsistent and downright ineffective against a lot of teams. Which is my point about the offense in general the last few years. We didn't crack 4 yards a carry in the last 5 games.
I just don't really see what it matters how often we pass. We're bad at passing and not consistently good at running either. If we were better at passing we'd probably be a lot better at running though, because we sure have the pieces to succeed.
