The offense started to "come together" at about the time we started playing the shittiest defenses in the SEC.

I wouldnt call bamas defense the worst in the sec.

I just think there were problems on both sides of the ball that we didnt have last year. Hence not winning the west and the sec.

While the d didnt give up points, the secondary got torched in the state, ole miss, arkansas, and clemson game. You wouldnt expect that with the supposed best talent in the country.

The offense put up a ton of yards, but only 17 points. Being unable to get the ball into the end zone is a chronic offensive problem and it definitely reared it's head again. We started to score a lot more around around the time we started playing Arkansas, and Moo State, and Ole Miss. Not a coincidence.

Anyway, the defense certainly had problems defending the pass at the end of the year, but that isn't a chronic problem. We haven't had abysmal pass defense for 5 straight years. I expect it to be corrected because our defensive problems generally get corrected quickly. It it's a problem again next year, then I will worry.

But the offense has been average-to-bad for 5 years straight. Yes, even last year was merely average offensive production, it was just coupled with absolutely lights out defense and special teams play. That is a chronic problem that should have been addressed a few times over, and just hasn't been.

I'm willing to overlook a few bad defensive games at the end of the year, but not 5 years of mostly really poor offensive performance.
