His mix tape got that was released on CHRISTMAS EVE was downloaded half a million times in 3 days.
Out of curiosity, how much did said mix tape cost to download?

No doubt, but that clown was saying it's bigger than the Deftones.
Apples and oranges.
The ticket will be cheaper, and won't sell as fast. Yes.

Sorry, I misunderstood you. I thought you were responding to the first part of:

I will say that Deftones was worthy of a big announcement, but Bush and Wale? Nah.

Mix tapes are free. It's pretty evident you have no idea about the world of hip hop.

these threads are always entertaining..if its a band/artist that one dosent like or heard of they get all pissed
Wale, Bush, and Deftones are all big...i had never even heard of Deftones when they were announced because im not into that type of music, but just because i had never heard of them i didnt do all the "oh man this thread is an epic fail!!" bullshite. its stupid to shite all over the OP when all he did was inform the board that the Varsity was announcing a show today that should sell out just because you know nothing of the artist
btw im not a huge Wale fan but he has some songs i like...these are the ones i like

Actually, this exactly the kind of show the Varsity should be booking. It's not for me, as I'm kind of done with modern hip hop save a few acts, but I think this will actually bring in a college audience, the people the Varsity should be serving.
I compared it to the Critereon collection before, they make their money by putting out a four disc set of The Rock, which allows them to then put out a retrospective of the 39 Steps. One pays the bills, yet is crap, while the other is the thing they want to do. Deftones and Bush pay the bills, allowing them to bring in a college act (though both are better than the musical equivalent of Michael Bay).
This is a great show for people under the age of 30. Good on the Varsity.
