What's his % over ranked teams? That's what I would like to see.

That and the SEC has been way more competitive than the Big 12 over the last 10 seasons.

the Big12 had 3 teams who had arguments to go to the title game in 2008, bro

posted this in the other thread and although its not his complete record of what you're asking for, it gives you an idea of how much he has shite the bed when being the higher ranked team in their bowl games -

Oklahoma has been the higher ranked team in 8 out of 14 of their bowl games. 4 of their 7 losses came against teams ranked below them -

1999: Ole Miss (neither teams were ranked in top 25, but Oklahoma was ranked higher)

2004: #2 LSU VS #1 Oklahoma

2007: #9 Boise State vs #7 Oklahoma

2008: #11 West Virginia vs #3 Oklahoma

and 4 of their 7 wins have came against teams ranked below them

2000: #3 Florida State vs #1 Oklahoma

2001: (NR) Arkansas vs #10 Oklahoma

2010: #25 UCONN vs #9 Oklahoma

2011: (NR) Iowa vs #14 Oklahoma

So you point to 1 year out of 10? The SEC has had 5 different schools win the SEC multiple times in the last 11 seasons and 4 different schools win a national championship in that same time frame.

Oklahoma State last year.

Texas won it in 2005, lost it in 2009, and was a legit contender in 2001 and 2008. Had the talent in 2002 and 2004.

Colorado had an argument to be in the game in 2001.

Nebraska was in the game in 2001.

The conference has been the second best BCS conference during Stoops' tenure. It's stupid to diminish what Stoops has accomplished by understating the quality of the conference.

I stand corrected. This is pretty impressive. 46-21 vs ranked teams.

The only other team in the Big 12 that has been consistently good the last 10 years.

3-17 vs OU and Texas over the last 10 seasons. In the last 10 seasons Texas Tech and Ok. St. are the only other teams besides OU and Texas that have come close to playing in a national championship. That means 8 of the last 10 seasons have basically been owned by 2 schools.

Eta: I'm a Bob Stoops fan and think he is easily a top 10 coach. But you would be crazy to think the Big 12 has been as competitive over the last 10 seasons as the SEC has.

Oklahoma IMO is a top 5-10 job. They could probably get any big name they wanted if the job opened up. The guy hasn't legitimately sniffed a title in almost 8 years now and loses just about EVERY big game they play in.

I really don't understand it. Can you imagine him at LSU?

He arse rapes Mack and Texas every year. That's how

Not every year but more often than not

And he didn't follow a coach like Saban. He followed some black dude who sucked.

The Big 12 was arguably the best conference at the time.

Kansas State was consistently good during the beginning of Stoops' tenure. Teams such as Tech and OSU took KSU's place until this year. The point stands that the conference has been competitive and has had good teams. So what if it hasn't been the same three or four programs?

He's done what Les Miles has done and nobody can stand Miles. I'm just using rant logic here.

My mind starts to get conflicted by reading the rant too much I guess.

miles' biggest problem is how stubborn he is by sticking with the 3 yards and a cloud of dust philosophy. Stoops has always had an aggressive approach on offense and has embraced the spread. You can't fault stoops for being too conservative or stubborn, which is why people complain about miles. stoop's problem is he can't keep his team focused, prepared or motivated during the long layoff during bowl season.

i'm going to go back to 2003

2003: lost to a better team
2004: lost to a better team
2006: lost to BSU. OU only made it to the BCS b/c colt mccoy got hurt and UT lost their last 2 games. OU slid into the big12 title game and had a WR playing QB that year due to car gate
2007: lost to a better team
2008: lost to a better team
2012: lost to a better team

i mean there is only so much he can do when people overrate OU and people believe their opponents are underdogs

that is pretty accurate, however i dont know if west virginia without rich rod was better than oklahoma in 2007.

stoops' biggest problem is how bad they played in some of those games(mainly the k-state big12 championship, 55-19 against usc and blowout loss against west va). tonights performance was dogshit as well.

2003 vs lsu, 06 vs boise and 08 vs florida they lost to better teams and didnt emberass themselves.

Oh, so exhibition games really matter these days?

Also, fewer than 10% of his games coached is a better indication of his coaching prowess than his entire body of work?

Do tell us more, oh wise rantard.
