re: The catch-22 that is being Les Miles

I don't get why some fans have such a hard time stating the obvious. I am loyal to LSU. If I see something I think needs improvement I am going to state it because I want my team to be better. Miles has some flaws as all coaches do but voicing them shouldn't mean you are a bad fan or negatiger. IMO ignoring them is the exact opposite of what a good fan would do.

Who is just content with that? People are just saying that things could be much worse and that you shouldn't melt down over 10 win seasons. You really have an inferiority complex.

GOOD fans accept flaws. GOOD fans still want Dinardo here and are still mad Negatigers were responsible for complaining and bringing in Saban.

I think Miles is a great recruiter, but that is only one phase of the coaching job. I think he is a great family man, a quality person, a great motivator and a pretty good disciplinarian. He makes some good hiring decisions and some bad ones and sometimes, but not often, he is a fair game day manager. He also has developed some talent in kids that were highly self motivated and enjoyed competing for a job, but some of his recruits have not improved and some have regressed. That is the truth.
What would you suggest, that he punt on recruiting and just ride out the next 8 losing seasons with his extended contract? At least he is trying. You can't please all the people all the time.

and i'm ok with that because it's a fair criticism. it's the people that want him fired for being the 2nd or 3rd most successful program in the toughest division in the toughest conference since he's been here. it's the ones who have a total lack of perspective that seem to be taking over the rant. (i know, it's probably not a new thing)
Wanting him fired is idiotic. Wanting him to hire an OC and let the OC run his offense isn't. Roger says it all the time and I agree 100%....Miles should be the CEO.

But hey....REMEMBER THE 90's!!!!!!
you can't honestly think that 10 wins in the MAC or big ten, mean as much as 10 wins on LSU's schedule though.
i am content but feel there is room for improvement on the offensive side of the ball (and frankly the defensive breakdowns on 2 min drills have me worried too).
I feel like saban's success at bama in what will be winning 3 of last 4 titles has done nothing but made the margin of perceived success so small at LSU that meeting or exceeding expectations become nearly impossible.
if LSU wins the NC next year there will be fans who will either be upset that it means miles will be here longer or unsatisfied and say "well, saban has more rings"

JLee would have shite the bed vs. Alabama as well. They were screwed either way. That's all Lee had ever done vs. Alabama.
THIS! Bama knew what we were going to do by our formation before we snapped the ball. They even seemed to know the snap count. They were just better prepared on 1/9/12. No one at QB could have won that game. However, Miles should have probably given Lee a series or two in the game just for the sake of trying. What could it have hurt?

so instead of giving vandy credit for an amazing season unlike any they've had in recent memory you compare LSU to the "idea" of Vandy and every season they've had before this?

:looks back at the Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Towson games:
The price of a chicken bowl ticket: 50 dollars
The price of Les Miles' yearly salary: 4 million dollars
The fact you have to ask if LSU could beat VANDY: priceless

If you haven't realized by now, all theunknownknight does is spin anything and everything to meet his agenda.

You're approaching Bama fan level trolling, seriously.

yeah i kinda get that, but he seems to be intelligent and i'm trying to appeal to that.
anyone can, despite level of intelligence, ignore facts and highlight others to prove a point.
i actually think he can be reasoned with.
am i off??

So how about this: the fact 5 other teams in the SEC have won at least 11 games* with two of those teams winning 12+ while we won 10.
The SEC has the most 10 wins teams in its conference.
Must be REAL hard to win 10 games in the SEC.
amirite???
