Kudos to Vilma - i like a player who has passion to defend his team, teamates and his coaches.

Maybe it was the poor level of LB play but coming off injury and missing camp and a new DC I thought he was OK. And I'm sure he knows his conrtact is too large. You think his skills are too far gone for the NFL?
I for one want him back to back up the MLB spot.

Maybe, but if he's willing to renegotiate his deal and lower his cap number he could be a good fit. He's younger than many great defensive players who laster 12+ years at a high level. Near as I can remember his only real problem has been that knee injury. With a year of very limited hits and injuries plus this offseason to train why can't he come back and perform at a high level? I don't see the saints drafting or signing enough playmakers at LB to make Vilma a throw away. I see him right now at worst as the 2nd best LB on the roster.
Plus, he epitomizes what the organization likes to tout as 'high character guys' in the locker room.
