I thought the pass on second down was a good call. The receiver was wide open in front of Mett, about 12 feet away. Simple pass on the run. Mett just blew the throw. However, the pass on 3d down was not smart. The throw was a snap throw right in front of the defensive line. I know Jamarcus used to make that throw look easy, Mett has a recurring problem getting throws throw a crowd.

I saw a great run in the Stanford game today. In a short yardage situation they brought the receiver in motion to set up a tight, power running set, with a single back, then pitched to the back running for the sidelines. That play would work for us.

A few years ago Les Miles went outside the box and allowed his OC to let Deangelo Peterson to run a reverse around the left side for big yardage. It was 4th and 1 I believe and it was a toss sweep that went for 20 something yards.

I miss that Les Miles. He has disappeared.
