Pretty pissed. Should have had one more year. The teams D core is on its last legs, and I think they should have shored up the Oline this offseason and given it another year. Still had a chance at being competitive next year, but with lovie gone the D vets have got to go. One year premature, imo.

Bears should hire McDaniels, just to see what Cutler does.

The only decent offense under Lovie came in 2006 according to the numbers, look it up. Lovie had enough time and made bad decisions and never adjusted properly in game, never. Lovie must take responsibility and thus the fall. I'm happy. I think Mike McCoy would be a good fit.

lovie is paying the price for angelos draft busts. i doubt he had much say in offensive personnel decisions and draft picks. 06 was the last time the bears have had a good line. he did more with less than most coaches in the NFL the past 9 years.
Martz, however, totally on lovie. bad call.
A change was needed soon, i agree, but i dont think the bears underperformed this year, and i still feel its a year early to blow this team up.

Lovie is a good coach, but I think Emery is correct with being progressive and decisive. We need a guru to take this offense into the 21st century. The O-line may take time to fix, but we also need a TE and vertical WR threat among other needs.

They should have kept Lovie and fired Cutler. Will never win anything with him...

knox could still be that vert WR threat, depending on his rehab i guess. TE could be fixed pretty easy, and it wouldnt cost much to upgrade from whats on the roster. anything is better than davis.
the D is about to be a fustercluck. with lovie gone, its pretty safe to assume Urlacher will be getting a low ball offer and split. I wouldnt be surprised if they try to deal Briggs for some picks.
id just hate to see a new coach come in without any other drastic moves. i dont think they fire lovie if they feel theyre a player or two away from SB contention. ive been behind everything emery has done so far, including this past draft, so i guess ill just have to be along for the ride. but next year looks much less promising that it did yesterday.

I heard during one of the NFL shows something about Lovie having some kind of personality disorder that was very difficult for him. They didn't expand or elaborate much more than that comment. I wonder if there are other issues that are driving this decision.

Can't say I really like him as a Coach. Me being a Saints fan. Chi and that damn field pissed me off that day. But he is a damn good coach. He will land on his feet, well I think he does.
It's scary to think they could get a good coach. Was hoping that 6 game streak could go to 8

i dont see us making much noise next year. firing lovie will cost us on defense, which will mitigate whatever gains are made in the offseason for the offense. id say youll get to 8. after that, you fuuuuucked.
