Go to SD

Their D is OK and can use improving. Bring in a OC to put Rivers in place and should be able to dominate the AFC West

Peyton is only getting older

I'm wondering if Chicago already has his replacement in mind and thought they needed to act fast to get him before some of the other jobs start opening up.

I don't say it's a bad move, but fired after 10-6 with that OL seems unfair

Maybe..but consider this: Rodgers was sacked the most and is in the playoffs...Luck was sacked the 3rd most and is in the dance as is Dalton (sacked the fourth most). You can only use the OL crutch for so long.

Chicago 10-6-no playoffs
Bengals 10-6
Vikings 10-6
Baltimore 10-6
Washington 10-6
It was just the way things worked out this year.
Also he brought them to a SB, and 1 return to the playoffs.
He should get the hotseat not shitcanned. but that is the way NFL operates.

I'm up here and watch the team play every week. The hot start was an anomoly. They regressed to the mean in the second half. They aren't very good as a team and that's why they aren't in the playoffs.

I think they need a change in direction.

Can't say I really like him as a Coach. Me being a Saints fan. Chi and that damn field pissed me off that day. But he is a damn good coach. He will land on his feet, well I think he does.

Someone needs to be fired for how bad that OL has been for so long. Year after year it's the Achilles heal

I like lovie as a coach. But his D is getting old at key spots and that missed the playoffs 5 of the last 6 years stat is pretty damning. May be a good move for both sides to move on

So much truth in this statement.

I think he might have been tentative in letting players go. I love Urlacher as a Linebacker but he is not holding up. He might have thought that if he let him go he would still play at a high level, like dawkins did after the Eagles let him go.

Missed the playoffs 5 out of 6 seasons, missed it for the second season in a row because of a late season collapse (started 7-3 last year, ended up losing 5 of 6, despite facing a ridiculously easy schedule. We did have some big injuries, but that is no excuse to not beat Kansas City, Oakland, Seattle, and Denver). That put him on the hot seat, and missing the playoffs after starting 7-1 killed him, as it should any coach. 10 wins, but nothing noteable. We did beat the Colts in Lucks first game, beat Minnesota back in November, but that's it. Looked pathetic against any good team. But he sure did show Tennessee and Jacksonville who's boss!

Mike tice got him canned. A long sad list of bad personnel choices. I said last night this guy was getting canned. He is a good coordinator, but not a good HC.

Most Chicago people hate him.

I've never really understood. He's a pretty good coach.
