Did you even read the screencap? The homeowner DID warn the intruder. It's dark and there's no power in the home due to a fire in the complex earlier on. Homeowner decided to stay there anyway to protect his property from burglary. Turns out his hunch was correct. Someone broke in. Remember, it's dark and no lights? If it's me, I'm slinging lead in the vicinity of wherever he's breaking in from. If a bullet happens to strike the intruder in the head, then so be it. That's the chance HE took

Yes, I did read it. I wasn't responding to what the homeowner did in this instance.

There were people in this thread saying that they would just blast away, without warning.

I said, hey...becareful, you can be a victim in hot water under the law.

I can see your viewpoint, but remember this is an anonymous(for the most part) forum. Of course all these macho dudes are going to say that. However, none of them, unless they've experienced this situation (Like Coastie) can tell you what they would actually do if they should experience this.

Adrenaline will be rushing. You mind will be foggy. You will be scared of the unknown also. You'll be questioning "Is he armed too?", but all of this will be happening so quickly that who's to say what you'll remember to say or ask. The main issue here is DID YOU FEEL YOUR LIFE, OR THE LIFE OF SOMEONE ELSE, WAS THREATENED?

Logic and common sense says that in all likelihood the answer to that question will be YES and you'll be shooting to save a life in self defense.

I'm sure if the thug criminal that was breaking in happen to live, he'd say "judge, the man did give me a warning and I ignored it". Dude, get a clue!

You are right, and I thought this was common knowledge, but apparently isn't the case in LA, it was certainly covered in my CC class. To be legally in the right it's as simple as

"Stop or I'll shoot!"
*bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang*
