Most of the optimization involved in the PS3 was in getting the most out of the Cell processor, which was very hard to work with (Though the memory was an issue). The Wii U isn't particularly hard to develop for. I don't doubt that they will get some power out of it, but don't expect too much.

I'm only expecting a few notches ahead of Ps3 and 360. Probably more things actually running at HD resolutions rather than all of the upscales we've seen this generation.
