Final Fantasy for 360

What is the best one? I love final fantasy, but I've never played an Xbox version. I have $75 in Amazon gift cards to burn. Help me out!

The only available Final Fantasy games for 360 are 13, 13-2, and Crystal Defenders (XBLA tower defence game and I'm not positive it's on there).
You really don't have many options for this series on 360, but if you have a PS3, it has every main Final Fantasy except for 10, 10-2, 11, and 12 available for purchase.

unless something has changed, the only final fantasies out for xbox are FF13 and FF13-2.
I havent played FF13-2, but FF13 is probably the worst game of the series.

I don't have a 360, but are there any of the older ones on sale on xbox? If so I'd buy the points cards off of Amazon so you can get one of the older ones, because the new ones are pretty crappy.

There is really no difference other than the fact that it comes on three discs.
I am assuming we are talking about Final Fantasy XIII

This isn't true at all.
13 on the 360 looks objectively worse, even to the point of missing in-game backgrounds and items. It runs at a lower resolution, a lower frame rate, and is a rushed, shoddy port in every way.

I have had both version and they look fine. I don't know what the hell you are playing.

Probably the same game as the LensOfTruth site was playing.

ETA:
the 2nd page of the review shows the technical scores.
From what I remember, there was a lot more compression that had to be done to the FMVs to fit them onto the DVDs. Amongst other compromises.

Man, maybe I shouldn't get one on Xbox then. Seems like it's a general consensus that they sick on Xbox.

If you have a ps3, get it 13 on ps3.
if you don't have a ps3, then you not knowing what you're missing doesn't really matter.
I have it on 360 and it looks beautiful. Never played it on ps3 so if it looks even better than what the experience I had with it, oh well.
If I hated the 360 experience of the game, I'd be upset about the differences in quality, but I didn't. I really liked the game. Disc swapping being the only real pain in the arse. Reminded me of the ugly days of large titles on the game cube.

I find visual comparisons in that light to be absurd. You make it appear as though you could spot those minute graphical comparisons of Final Fantasy XIII while the game is in motion.
You will enjoy the game on either machine you get it for. You won't be missing anything at all.

I find it very kind to 360. I've read far more scathing article with side by side screens of Pulse where you have artefacts just cut out of the game.
If 360 is the only way you're able to play it, then by all means, please enjoy the game. It's just worse than the PS3 in a very clear and obvious ways.

Yea I don't have a ps3. So 360 is my only way to go. I think I'll give it a whirl.

I think you are just being a fanboy. In motion the game looks absolutely fine.

I don't think the original comment by F machine was to say that the graphics suck, because overall it is a pretty good looking game.
I think he was saying that the actual game really sucks. Which in my opinion I agree completely.
IF you have any way of skipping FF13 and playing other FF games, I would go that route.
Its almost a waste of time.

The story of Final Fantasy XIII is certainly a grind and the dialogue is almost laughable at times. However I found the battle system to be extremely rewarding, had it not been for that new battle system I would have put it down. It makes the fights much more engaging.
I also found the world in which Final Fantasy XIII takes place to be one of the cooler Final Fantasy universes.

Fanboy for what? If anything, I was pissed with the late 360 port which delayed the game I looked forward to for 5 years. Only thing I love and have great adoration for is Final Fantasy.

I don't believe that was the case at all.

My belief or the case it was delayed to make the 360 version day and date? I don't really think either is arguable, but the money they received to do so was very beneficial (to the company, not to gamers).

I would say an entire consumer base that got to play a game that would not have got to play it before, was a greater benefit to gamers.
