Samardjza
Garza
EJax
Baker
Feldman

Not the best staff, but should be serviceable.

Solid arms from top to bottom. They're just missing that true ace.

I think Carlos Villaneuva cracks the rotation IMO

I would think so too.

Scott Baker is good for about 4 starts a year before he breaks down.

Ah yes, forgot about him. I like him better than Feldman.

It's interesting Theo is dropping some dime.

He may think the Cubs are closer to competing than general consensus.

I think the transition to the NL will be good for Feldman. I think he'll surprise quite a few people.

Definitely could see that. Villanueva was a great buy low guy, getting out of Toronto should help his HR problems some, if he can limit his walks he could be a nice 4/5.

I think they will compete for the division in 2 years. They will be Pirate-esque until then; some decent young talent in need of a few key pieces before they compete.

Yeah, I got to looking at their roster the other day when they were rumored to have landed Sanchez, because I thought it was odd they'd drop that much dime on a pitcher when they weren't near competitive.

They aren't terrible.

And they'll always spend money.

3B, C, and corner OFs are a need.

I expect them to address one of those positions if they deal Soriano.

Almora and Soler are waiting in the wings in the OF.

Baez obviously. Arodys Vizcaino.

They have some decent top end young talent. Not too deep in the farm, though.

Yep, gotta rebuild farm depth and hope the young ones you mentioned become as they hope.

Cubs have the luxury of fielding a decent team while they are rebuilding. Its a good idea to not let the product go to complete shite while rebuilding.

Farm system is getting better. Not sure who all got passed around so far (adn will be passed around through the season) but you can guess the cubs won't be parting with any talent so by end of the year i think it's realistic that they'll be a top ten farm system.

It was also nice to see them getting guys who weren't given qualifying offers so they don't have to part with draft picks as part of the signing.

I think castillo can be a servicable catcher and fill that hole.

otherwise i agree. I'm not ready to give up on vitters at 3b but i just don't see it happening.

Villanueva won't start the season in the rotation. Don't forget about Travis wood. The cubs would like for him to be able to step it up and take a spot

I wonder if this happens before spring training. I hope.
