This episode answered a bunch, actually allowing my mind to rest a bit, because there was no need to really look "back" after this episode to try and decipher anything.. was just.. an amazing episode.

Explain it all to me then...

I finally watched the episode last night (and had watched the two before that Tuesday night), and I liked it a lot. But I always read you assholes in these threads and think "Where the frick are they coming up with half this shite..?" I really like Fringe, but it's a show that I don't really keep up with week to week. I'll kinda sit down one afternoon and watch the last 2/3/4 episodes in a row. I feel like watching it how I do detracts me from being able to fully keep up with everything going on. I feel like every time I see ya'll reference something previously, I'm like "Wow, I'd have never remembered that.."

That's why I know I'm gonna rewatch the series once this last season comes out on DVD.

So why has Walter been fricked in the brain lately? I saw someone reference Windmark doing something to him, but all I remember is him trying to get the plan from Walter's subconscious but it not being there because of the parts of his brain that were removed. And that's why we've had them watching the video tapes...to get clues about the plan and the necessary pieces to carry it out. Right? So why did Michael touching Walter "correct" him? I wasn't really aware that he needed correcting really. But again, I just don't seem to remember shite about this show..

Also, as much as I liked Peter having the tech inside of him, I feel like that whole subplot was basically useless and didn't go anywhere...he finally realized that he was losing himself (and Olivia) and took it out, and now he's back to good old human Peter again.

And Nina went out like a fricking boss. That was awesome. I was hoping she would make it, but you could tell that she wasn't going to...I thought she was gonna have created a way to block the Observers from reading her, and that was gonna lead Windmark to killing her. But once she pulled the gun, I figured she was gonna shoot herself. I don't know why she didn't just shoot WM right then and there though (why did he tell her that she cuoldn't hurt him with the gun? Was there something previously that stopped her - or all humans - from hurting the Obs?). But the whole speech about lizards and why the Obs tilt their heads and shite..that shite was awesome.

Also, if the Obs can predict and see "futures," then how is the Fringe team able to stay ahead of them so easily most of the time? Shouldn't Windmark be able to see all of this shite and pretty easily put a stop to it?

Also, anybody else notice they've been showing more and more of Liv's arse lately? Seems like every time she's onscreen, the camera is aimed at wasit level and it shows her walking away in her tight arse jeans. Did this several times with Astrid as well over the last few episodes. Anna Torv is ridiculously sexy.

This is why Peter had the tech. It showed "behind the Observer scenes", of how this process works.

Just like with Peter and the Observer in the park...only the smallest thing can throw off the predicted timeline. The Fringe team seems to be one step ahead because of Peter's knowledge.

Ok.. his brain had been fricked up to this point because he had the pieces of his brain (that had been removed) inserted back into his brain, just after they did that Windmark goes crawling in only to find that there is nothing there for him to read. This has now been explained, the boy locked away those memories, so Windmark couldn't get to them, all a part of September's plan.. in doing so though, Walter's brain was royally fricked, and the part of his brain that was the old Walter was trying to make a comeback all the while he couldn't remember even half the shite that had happened after the boy erased his memory.. because Windmark prodded around in his brain way to much.

He put out the video tapes, because September being the "know-it-all" that he is, told Walter to do it, cause ultimately they needed to be on the path they are on now.. September's path.. the path they have been on since season 1.

It was lip service for when Peter showed up dressed as an Observer after the first season.. at comic con. I believe this would have been a bigger plot device had the writers had more time, but don't forget, at the end of the day - the relationship between Olivia and Peter is THE thread that holds this show together.

Did you miss the season finale of season 4 when the girl mentioned that the Observers could "dodge" the bullets.. not because they were actually dodging them, but because the science team had tech that allowed them to move faster than the human mind can perceive. She then pulled out a "modified" gun that moved faster than the Observers, one that they would not be able to dodge.. and shot September - which lead us to the scenes with shot September throughout season 4 (in the past, AFTER being shot in the future, wrap your head around that one ) Nina couldn't shot Windmark with the normal gun.. cause Windmark is a member of the science team, and they can move faster than the human mind perceives.

This is actually where Peter's little escapade as an Observer comes into play. We learned through the eyes of Peter, than a self thinking Observer could "create" events that would ultimately lead to any of the Observers falling into a path predetermined. Peter was "setting" Windmark up when it took out the tech, Windmark was doing exactly what Peter wanted him to do, it was the ultimate play, it was going to be over for him, had Olivia not talked him out of it - Windmark would probably be dead by now. The Fringe team has had 4 seasons of help from September / Donald, they then had 3 years to prepare for the Observer invasion.. with another Observer helping them - September.

So think of this season, as a massive version of what Peter was doing in 1 day.. setting they up completely for their fall - and September made sure all of the pieces would fall into place - 1 step ahead of Windmark at every turn.
