That wasn't the point I was trying to make. That dinner was a no-win situation.

Again, he likely excused himself from the table. Which is different than going to the restroom and not coming back.

He was on the dinner's fringe...the coaches who recruited the players were eating with them. Tommy made an appearance, said a few words, never lied or anything and then said good night and excused himself. He never said he was going to bathroom. Tommy is all class with a record of head coaching success...when these things happen quick, awkwardness can't be helped.
