who was it fans? For Clemson it was Tommy West(dreadful hire to begin with, I mean mediocre years at Chattanooga). His career ended in 1998 with a 3-8 season.
who was your worst?

oh man. 4 straight losing years in the early 90's. What was wrong with him? Was he supposed to be defensive or offensive?

Nope. Only coach in our history, to coach more than one season and not have at least one season with a winning record.

How times change, buyout for his last season was $98k according to the article.

Curly Hallman took an LSU team that was competing for SEC Titles every year and completely destroyed the program. His overall record was 16-28 at LSU. He took over as coach in 1990, only 2 years removed from LSU winning a conference title.

Joe Dean hiring on the cheap for a coach that had Brett Farve for a few years of good ball at USM.

What about mike archer

I think the thing that really stings, is that they took Hallman over Spurrier.

If we're talking coordinators, Lynn Amadee and Lou Tepper were worse.

Lou tepper- "It takes players 5 years to learn my system"

Archer is/was a pretty good DC and a great linebackers coach. He was too young (I always defend Archer by reminding people that he is 3 1/2 months older than Les Miles), the wrong man at the wrong time, however you want to explain it.
Also, Archer won more games in his first 2 years than Hallman won in 4, had a winning record in the SEC - just a number of things to make him much better than Hallman.
