I will be staying in the FQ on Sat night and found that many of the places mentioned booked. Most were wide open at 545 or 9pm though.
How about GW Finns. This place is consistently good and seems to be off the radar for most locals.
Iris is another that you may like.
Despite what some trolls think, Sylvain, for what it is, is a very good restaurant if you don't mind the hipsters.
