re: JT Curtis doesn't get bored by beating up on inferior teams?

So the real pricks aren't the ones with 101 players dressed out in a school of 300 kids total?
how does that make them the pricks? And a lot of those in that 101 are 7th and 8th grades and kids who never see the field in meaningful action. Curtis doesn't cut players.

I'm not saying they're pricks. Previous poster called 4A and 5A pricks for making JC and ECA play down to their enrollment. Just think his anger is misdirected that's all.

A lot of people don't get that 2A is probably the biggest joke classification in the state. You have 2 teams every single year Evangle and JC. They are basically the only two well coached teams in their class, they recruit like there's no tomorrow, and they play teams that have 40-50 kids max on their team (because that how many a normal 2A school should have). Yeah JC and Evangel are good teams but they play no one else but each other to win state championships.
I just don't see how it can be that rewarding because there's a right way to do things. If you look at Kenny Guillot for instance. Most of the kids on the team have been life long PBS kids and he's winning state championships with home grown kids. Not kids that he recruits from every middle school playground team around BR. That's why I think they have the best coaching staff in the state because they win with what they have not with what they recruit and that's why I wouldn't see as much satisfaction if I were JT

Where did the Booth kid who played quarterback for PBS a few years back get recruited from? He was lifelong Live Oak. PBS came and got him. He was good enough to get scholarship to one of the military academies. While I am totally against the JC and Evangels playing AA ball, don't think PBS is ivory white either

So how about when WM use to play Evangel in the State finals. They would have 100 players to Ev 45. Also these aren't the only two schools that recruit. I do remember Bradie James leaving wossman to go the wm. I think he transferred back to Wossman afte the football season

I personally have no dog in this fight and could care less what Curtis or Evangel do.

Or the one time they played West Monroe in their history and lost 26-7.

Complete myth. I was at the graduation and watched him walk across the stage to get his degree. He graduated from WM.

If 5A schools weren't scared to have them in their classification, there wouldn't be a need for this.

I hate that prep football season is over, JJ. Goes by way too quick.

Who's scared? Curtis never played in 5A and Evangel looks nothing like it did a decade ago.

At least it's twice as long as junior high season. Now that goes by way too quick. I love watching my nephew play.

Sorry.. I should have at least inserted a " " emoticon to indicate sarcasm.

No joke.. I remember we were lucky to have 8 games on the schedule my 8th grade year. We didn't have playoffs either.

I don't know you well enough to detect sarcasm.

Evangel was bumped down because Ruston couldn't beat them, not WM. Ruston was in their district. Another theory of the big schools was it wasn't right for Evangel to play in front of larger crowds, bring 500 people, and split the profits. They thought if they forced them down they would bankrupt them.
Obviously they were wrong, but Evangel is indeed weaker than before. Personally I'd prefer to let everyone play up. Use the multiplier for private schools like every other state. Those were some great games between WM and Evangel. Both teams blew each other out once and the rest of the games were determined by 1-7 points.
