Is this a herp derp hire?

I dunno.. 5 dbs in the NFL draft in 3 years.. Sure the lax defensive numbers could be a testament to poor coaching, but it could also be a testament to lost talent and faster offense/more defensive field time..

It remains to be seen.. The best I'm hoping for is 3-5 three and outs a game.. That sounds like terrible aspirations I know, but I think that will be enough to keep AU in most games.

Cheese is mediocre at best as a position coach. Get used to players who can't find the ball and don't understand down and distance situations.

My biggest problem with Cheese is his fascination with height in his DBs. Look I know the theory of 6'2 CBs who can cover sounds great and every once in a decade you'll get someone who can do it, but too often at Clemson he signed tall, stiff CBs without the hips to turn and run with pure WRs. There are so many studs he legit wouldn't even look at because they were too short. It's ridiculous.

As a recruiter I will say he's quite he's quite underrated. He's not a Trooper level recruiter, but all the kids love him and he always pulls in his numbers.

Also, lol at whoever said there was a joke of a staff being assembled in Auburn. Malzahn will run the offensive show and their young OC will be one of the hottest names in CFB in 5 years. And Ellis Johnson is absolutely a top 10 DC if not better. That guy can coach with the best of em.
