I don't want to google, because I dont want to learn too much.
Is there any point in the comics when they figure out what caused the virus?

It was never addressed by Kirkman in the comics, nor the writers on the television show. Apparently it was never really discussed and will never be addressed in the future...

The governor has it and have it to his kids

I like to think that it had something to do with those guys who shot Rick in the first episode.

The cause is irrelevant to the story.

As with every other zombie story, save AUD

Even though the exact cause is irrelevant, I did like the occasional flashback to the beginning of the breakout. It was interesting to see the writers interpretation of how society crumbled. I wouldn't be opposed to throwing one in thats relevant to the episode every once in a while

It's said that it's in the wind... and the wind chases you around through open fields and if the wind catches up to you... you die.
The Happening.

Has not been discussed. Kirkman does know what causes it but has said he doesn't plan on revealing it unless necessary.

A fricking men. I like the split-season format and I think they could one-up themselves. Right now it's 8+8 with a break in Dec-Jan. Let's go 7+2+7 with the 2 episodes in early Jan focusing on what goes on when Rick's in his coma. Could be characters we know, or characters we don't. Maybe characters who were only in a show or 2.

I thought it was Meningitis or a mutation of it. The doctor at the CDC mentioned Meningitis.

The rule is: WHATEVER it is that causes the zombies, is something everyone already has. If you stub your toe, get an infection and die, you turn into a zombie, UNLESS your brain is damaged. If someone shoots you in the head and you die, you're dead. A zombie bite kills you because of infection, or blood loss, not because of the zombie "virus."
