Peyton Manning back on top in QBR ranking = MVP bound

He has the top QBR right now (100% accurate in predicting MVP thus far) and, more importantly, a great story (missed entire year/4 neck surgeries/cut by old team/brand new team that struggled to 8-8 in previous year,etc.). Unless there is a total collapse the last 4 games, the MVP is his to lose.
Brady is the biggest threat and he has 2 prime-time games coming up, which can go a long way in influencing the voters at this point in the season . Manning will need to have a good game this Thursday (last prime-time game) and will need to win out (will finish with 11 game win streak if so) to really lock up MVP beyond Brady's reach.

Just a big fan of the greatest QB in NFL history

Cannot argue with 100% accuracy in predicting league MVP. 4 for 4 so far.

I would like to see him win it. Good dude, nice story etc....

Peyton
He is not defending QBR, just noting its correlation with the MVP winner. Peyton is definitely the frontrunner, but do not forget about Tom, Rodgers, or All Day.

While this is probably an unpopular opinion, I think there are others more deserving. He's obviously having a great year, but it's not like Denver has zero talent besides him. They were already a playoff winning team last year with Tebow of all people. I know he could get it just about every year, but is he truly the most valuable player to his team in comparison across the league? Look at Adrian Peterson, look at Brees (although his ints are OOC this year), look at RG3. While I think he could win it, it just almost standard these days that whenever he does well he's practically guaranteed the award.

I hear you, but the last person to win the MVP and not make the playoffs was O.J. Simpson. Just like the Heisman typically does not go to a person on a team not ranked highly, the MVP tends to go to playoff-bound teams. That rules out Brees and most likely both Peterson and Griffin.
Also, regarding Griffin, the Shanahans developed an incredible offensive structure to limit the amount of decision-making Griffin has to do. Don't forget that Shanahan has been considered for years as one of if not the best play-caller in the NFL. He has won 3 super bowls calling plays (OC for 49ers in 1994 and HC for Denver in 97-98).

The award shouldn't (and won't) go to a guy whose team is at .500 or under. Obviously, there are still games to be played but that all but eliminates AP, Brees and RG III (although RG III and AP are probably deserving; i don't know about Brees this year)

Peyton should not be penalized because they made the playoffs last due to the fact that they had an obscene amount of luck. More importantly, the other teams in the AFC West sucked.

Look at Adrian Peterson,
I would be happy with this, but the voters will want to see the Vikes in the playoffs. If they get the six seed, then I think AP could get it because their team was absolute shite last year and had no expectations along with a bum arse QB.

Tom and Aaron over Brees. Not even a question.

look at RG3
Eh, he has been grossly lucky. Alex Smith with wheels. Look at last night. fricking fumbles for a TD and gets slurped for it. He also does not pass enough. 20 attempts just will not cut it. RG3's pass attempts + rushes is still less than Peyton's pass attempts. Peyton is simply worth more at this point.

Oh so now Shanahan is a genius and isn't living off of Elways legacy

Pretty sure at this point he's out of the conversation.

Who ever said he was living off of Elway's legacy? The 49ers 1994 offense was one of the greatest in NFL history. They won the Super Bowl 49-26. The 97-98 super bowl teams in Denver relied more on Terrell Davis than John Elway. Post-Elway and Davis, Denver had a string of 1,000 yard rushers. It did not matter who you put back there because of the great zone-blocking schemes created by Shanahan and the play-calling. He is very legit. What dumbass said he living off of Elway's legacy? I haven't heard that.

Denver is 5th in the NFL in total offense and 3rd in scoring.
Last year they were 23rd in total offense and 25th in scoring.
Peyton's impact has been incredible

Here is AP's impact on Minnesota's rushing offense.
This year the Vikings rank 3rd in the NFL in rushing.
Last year?
They ranked 4th

Man, get that shite out of here. 21 turnovers in 12 games eliminates him from any MVP discussion

Brees should not be in the MVP race. Come on son

Pretty much every detractor of Shanahan since his last couple of years in Denver and his first few years in Washington. I've seen it on this board a ton. I personally think him and Kyle have done an amazing job this year.

This is the 13th season Shanahan has coached since Elway retired. He has only had 6 winning seasons and has made the playoffs just 4 times during that span.
After winning the Super Bowl in 1998, he has won a grand total of 1 playoff game
Shanahan is overrated

Perhaps as a head coach but not as a play-caller. It is also really hard to win in this league without a good QB. He had some success with Jake Plummer but Plummer was nothing special. He only had a couple of seasons with a young Jay Cutler before being shown the door.

Peyton is 1st in QBR, 1st in Comp %(w/ QB's who attempt 300+), 8th in Yards....he's taking this trophy home.
